Meerkats live in big groups known as mobs, and each member is critical to the group’s existence. They collaborate to collect food, care for their young, and protect themselves from predators.
The resilience of meerkats in the face of hardship is perhaps the most inspiring aspect of them. They’ve adapted to a world where food and water are limited and predators are plentiful. They have evolved an acute sense of awareness as well as an extraordinary ability to interact with one another through a series of cries and gestures. Meerkats also have an unusual approach to danger: they stand on their hind legs and scan the area for potential hazards. Their tenacity and resourcefulness serve as an inspiration to those who face similar problems in life.
